Thanks for this, Michelle, very informative. I think one of the biggest misconceptions clients have is that by paying you to shoot they automatically get copyright. I make it abundantly clear to clients that this is not the case to avoid confusion.

Great post!!! I’m afraid a lot of people don’t care about copyright laws and just copy your work and make it their own. How sad! But thanks for the info! I’ll share the link to your article!

Thanks for posting this, Michelle… more people need to be aware of the seriousness of copyright issues, and I think you’ve written this point perfectly. It really sucks that you had to go through this though – hope it gets resolved quickly. Let’s all protect each other and educate the public! :)
