Casting Call!! “Real Teens” for a FUN project!

May 28th, 2010 – Our Casting Call is now CLOSED! Thank you to EVERYONE who applied!!

I am VERY excited to announce we are casting “Real Teens” for an up-coming Fashion Editorial project. Please READ the details below, and follow the instructions to submit your information!! It is very important you meet all our requirements. We will ONLY be able to contact you if we are interested in you for the project. More details provided once we choose our girls. Thank you!

We are looking for high school teens between the ages of 14-18 for a FUN fashion-forward “Back-to-School” themed editorial. A LOVE of fashion, and being COMFORTABLE in front of the camera is a MUST! If you have always been interested in modeling, or think you have a unique and awesome/out-going personality YOU are the girl we are looking for!! Please don’t be afraid to submit your information, because YOU might be exactly what we are looking for!! Take a chance! (We save all our castings, and we could use you for a future project!)

+ Must live in the Seattle area and be available during a WEEK DAY in June.
+ Must be an actual high school student, aged between 14-18
+ Please no agency models. A Model Release will be required.
+ Please be sure to have parental consent.

Portland Senior Portrait Photographer, Jenny Class of 2010

I had the pleasure of heading down to Portland recently to shoot Jenny’s senior portraits. Jenny was a total natural in front of the camera, and reminded me of a famous actress with her natural beauty and killer style. At the very end of the session we were by an ice cream store and as soon as Jenny saw it she stated “I WANT SOME!”. So we got a scoop (or two!) for some cute shots at the end. Thanks also to Jenny’s friend [Amanda] for kickin’ it with us, and helping with the reflector! Enjoy! xoxo

Seattle Teen Portrait Photography, Sarah

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday! Sarah is the cutest little thing since sliced bread!! I want to introduce our “Teen Portrait” photography with Sarah’s session from last month. We had such a beautiful (warm) winter day! Sarah has great style, and poise for a girl her age. I was impressed with her interest in fashion (she wants to be like [Grace Coddington] and style photoshoots), and her natural grace. Watch out because this little hip-hop dancing, stylista is going places! Raise your hand if you agree!! :) I am SO in love with this session, and I jam-packed this weekend blog post with a PILE of our favorite images.

Working with Sarah reminded me of the beauty of youth. I take images of my sister each year, and it’s been so amazing to watch her grow from an 11 year-old girl, into a gorgeous young woman. It really makes me realize how important it is to have images of your children at all stages of their lives, whether they just turned 14, or are celebrating their senior year of high school before they head off to college. You only get to be 11, 16, 18 ONCE, and having gorgeous, FUN images to remember your daughter by are so important. I want to give you the BEST and most FUN photo experience ever, because EVERYONE deserves the opportunity to feel good about themselves and have rad photos to share with the world.

Checking In, A Post a Day

So we’ve been live with our new blog for 2 FULL WEEKS now! Hooray!! We’ve been blogging every day (just about) and am curious to hear any thoughts about the new format. Are you enjoying a post each day? Is is too much? Should there be a way to organize our past posts better? Are you having an okay time searching/finding everything you need? Is it too overwhelming? I would VERY MUCH love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. I am trying to publicly reply to any comments right in the comment section so it can help others too. Thank you SO much for supporting our little corner on the interwebs. The feedback has been lovely, and hearing from you is what helps make it even better for EVERYONE. Senior Portraits in Seattle, McKenzie Class of 2010

I think I’m finally starting to miss the really warm hot summer we had last year! McKenzie’s photos remind me of the beautiful warm day we had, and I love love LOVE the color bursting from this session! McKenzie had awesome style (compliments to her AND her mom for picking out the cutest outfits with head-to-toe accessories!). Seattle Fashion Photographer, SMG Petite Model Susan

Susan kicks off our first studio shoot of 2010. She is a Petite model with [SMG] and needed fresh images for her portfolio. We took her through a variety of commercial looks and outfits that would show her range as a Petite model. I love working with Petite models because it’s all about the SHOES (and looking gorgeous of course)! Susan was fabulous and a complete joy to work with! Seattle Senior Portraits, Josie Class of 2010

Okay, yes, I went a little overboard on this post, but Josie is such a rockstar and I had so many favorites! I had so much fun meeting Josie and capturing her beautiful energy, smile & style. She brought her dog Charlie (I LOVE it when people bring pets or props!) and we also grabbed a couple of shots with her best-friend – her mom! Don’t forget to check out the little video at the end. Josie has an AMAZING voice, and when she offered to sing for me, I just had to record it for the blog! She totally gives me goosebumps. This girl is going places! Seattle Musician Promo, EMMY

SQUEEEEEE! I’m so excited to finally share this RADICAL promo we shot LAST SUMMER for rising Seattle pop-star EMMY. She was a blast to work with, and it was probably the most ambitious musician promo I’ve shot yet. We covered five different looks, and shot at different locations ALL over Seattle until well after dark. It was really fun to work with her, and I hope you enjoy a burst of energy from these photos!
